The All Women Simpson Desert Crossing on Motorbikes is a fully supported adventure like no other. Elsewhere on Wheels and OK Adventures are working together to make a Munga Thirri-Simpson Desert crossing a reality for adventurous women, all you need to do is rock up with your bike and ride with us!
This trip is open to female riders (gender diverse and non-conforming folk are welcomed and included too). Places are strictly limited.

What's involved
This is a fully supported tour. You’ll be traveling through some of the most isolated and incredible areas of the country. The trip includes a crossing of the Simpson Desert, from Mt Dare (South Australia) to Birdsville (Queensland), via the French and QAA Lines over 4 days, in addition to a tour of the iconic Oodnadatta and Birdsville tracks, with plenty to see and do, camping under the stars along the way - making it a 7 day trip in total.
You will need a registered off-road bike (rec rego is ok). You will not need to worry about setting your bike up for long distance travel as we carry all fuel, tools and luggage. You will need to get yourself and your bike to the start/finish point in Marree, South Australia, which is accessible via Port Augusta by sealed road suitable for 2WD vehicles, caravans and trailers.

Fundraising
The All Women Simpson Desert Crossing supports Dolly's Dream. We believe everyone has the right to feel safe and supported each and every day for being their beautiful, unique selves. We support participants to carry out fundraising for Dolly's Dream, if they wish, to stand against bullying and cyberbullying. Dolly's Dream provides practical resources to children, families, schools and communities. The All Women Simpson Desert Crossing has fundraised for Dolly's Dream since the first crossing in 2019.
The team
If you have ever dreamed of a Simpson Desert motorcycle crossing and an epic outback adventure, Kate from Elsewhere on Wheels and Kim and Mark from OK Adventures have joined forces to help you achieve the trip of a lifetime. Kim and Mark are an outback adventure power couple with 15 Simpson Desert crossings between them. Kate is a seasoned moto desert adventurer with 11 Simpson Desert crossings under her belt (including a double solo!) as well as the Finke and Don River races to boot.
Our story
The
All Women Simpson Desert Crossing has been running since 2019. Over this time it has encouraged many riders to reach new levels of personal achievement and adventure, all while supporting an important cause close to our hearts. Each year the crossing continues to grow. Based on feedback from past participants we now run the trip as a full loop, starting and finishing in Marree, South Australia, which means we can support riders to and from the desert from an accessible point, and showcase the iconic attractions of the surrounding outback and Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre areas.
